Skip the landscape mode
Since the working area ends up being square anyway it would be just as easy for me to switch to portrait mode if I want to edit anything. Besides, when you pop out the Palm Grafitti2 area, you don't have any control over which part of your wide screen is overlayed. If the spreadsheet cell you were editing were on the far right then opening the Virtual Grafitti area to enter text would likely hide your cell and you would have to scroll to find it again. If I expect to be entering any data at all then I will be in portrait mode.
