I've had my T3 for about 3 weeks and the only time I've needed to input anything in landscape mode was a few numbers in a spreadsheet.

Your observation is spot on - like most people (I suspect) I use the landscape mode primarily as a "read only" mode for reading ebooks, looking at pictures, and looking at spreadsheets.

Unless other users give differing feedback, my preference would be for you guys to spend your time ironing out the bugs in the beta (and working around Palm's!) and maybe making the changes to the layout of the stamp discussed elsewhere, rather than investing a lot of time and effort in making a landscape version.
