Doesn't the "pen-up" setting do the trick?

Concerning the weird behavior of Fitaly in some address-book entries, you write:

In my limited experience, this seems to happen when I have Fitaly set to produce the keystroke at "pen-down". Changing this to "pen-up" in the configuration menu seems to solve the problem, at least for Address Book.

I'm not clear what is the downside to this: Is there a performance hit? Does it cause problems in other applications?
