The stamp overlay doesn't fill the whole of the available area vertically; there is a small but noticeable gap above and below the stamp. Obviously "stretching" the stamp would mean a redesign of the graphic and recalibrating the software, which I guess would be a lot of work. How about moving the stamp up and using the space at the bottom for a permanent display of the application launcher bar?
This is exactly what we have done on FitalyVirtual. I have my doubts on this one, coming from my own experience using FitalyVirtual. With version 3, it became possible to display the application bar with a slide and I find that I always forget to use the bottom application bar, using always the one obtained by a slide. (Of course, it may come from my using different devices at different times.)
Most of the buttons on the left of the stamp (Apps, menu, calc, find etc) are duplicates of the ones on the T3's bottom status bar. Would it be possible to remove these and free up some real estate for the rest of the stamp? Again I suppose this would mean a bit of redesign.
Ironically, this applies equally well to the existing FitalyVirtual and while Alan and I have known about it for quite some time, none of our current FV users ever mentioned it :)
The idea is sound. It would allow a richer representation of the numbers and punctuations as in the image below:

Obviously, this goes beyond "a bit of redesign" and will take time. In the short-term, we'll just do something similar to FitalyVirtual (with or without the bottom application bar). Reshuffles as what we discussed here are for a later version.
