Fitaly 5.00 for the Pocket PC - Release Candidate 1

We are very pleased to announce Release Candidate 1 of Fitaly 5.00 for the Pocket PC.

You can download the Pocket PC Fitaly 5 RC1 PocketFitaly5RC1Setup.exe installer and save it to your computer.

For a first time installation just run the installer. After installation on some devices a soft reset may be needed before Fitaly can be used.

To reinstall over a previous version of Fitaly, the following steps are required:

1. Select another input method as Startup IM in the
   Fitaly Options/Operations tab.
2. Do a soft reset
3. Run the installer
4. Some devices require another soft reset after installation
   before Fitaly can be used.

It is recommended not to install Fitaly on a storage card.

Existing custom slide files will not be modified by this installer. However, to be on the safe side, always create backup copies of your custom slide files before installing a new version of Fitaly.

The following list shows the improvements made in version 5.00:

• Fitaly Expander
  With the new built-in expander Fitaly offers, in addition to sliding, another complementary way to be faster when writing and taking notes. The new text expander capability allows the usage of customizable glossaries. A few letters expand into your most frequently used words, phrases, addresses, professional terms, and more.
  
  

• Display forms for slide definitions and glossary entries
  Slide definitions and glossary entries can now have a display form. The display form is the hint that appears in the preview window.
  
  

• Fitaly Editor
  The Fitaly editor replaces the former Fitaly Slide Editor. With the Fitaly Editor you can edit both your custom slides and glossary entries. It provides an easy way to view your slide definitions and glossary entries and makes it easier than ever to use the powerful Fitaly macro language.
• Positioning of the Slide Preview Window
  The slide preview window can now be positioned left or right justified with regards to the tap position. This can be configured in the Fitaly Options/Sliding tab.
• Sliding visual feedback for Capitals
  Slides for capitals are probably the slides you use the most often. A specific visual slide feedback has been implemented for the case where the capital letter is defined as the only slide choice for a given letter and direction. The slide preview will then happen on the key itsef as shown in the following picture:
  
  

• Key repeat
  A key repeat timer has been implemented.
  It enables a key to be repeated automatically when it is pressed and held.
  The repeat delay can be configured in the Fitaly Options/Operations tab.
  Key repeat can be switched on or off.

• Loading of alternate Glossaries and Slide files
  The new version now allows to load alternate glossaries and slide files.
  You can load a glossary or a slide file via the menu or by using the
   Load glossary or Load slides metakeys in a slide definition.

• New metakeys
  Metakeys enable users to define slides that do more than just text.
  The following new metakeys have been added to our macro language:
  
  
  • Wait can introduce a wait time between commands inside complex slide definitions.
  • Load glossary enables you to load a specific glossary.
  • Load slides enables you to load a specific custom slide file.
