The FITALY Keyboard for the Palm Organizer is an ergonomic replacement for the standard QWERTY on-screen keyboard.

The FITALY key arrangement minimizes pen travel: 84% of the keystrokes used for text are placed in a very tight pattern, with the remaining keystrokes never more than two keys away. In addition, each key is near the keys most likely to follow in English text.

The effect is to minimize pen travel. In addition, the layout practically eliminates hand movement when typing text. This means that you can type with your hand rested on the lower area, moving only the fingers holding the pen.

Try to tap the standard 10-word test: "Now is the time for all good men to come" and you will see that the 10 words can be typed in 12 seconds or less. This is 50 words per minute on your Palm Organizer! - faster than most people ever achieve on the tiny ten-finger keyboards available on PDAs (and certainly faster than anybody can scribble on paper).

You will find that you do very few errors when using the Fitaly. This comes directly from having eliminated hand movement: pen taps that do not require moving the hand are much more precise. And of course, better accuracy means less time editing and correcting.

Doing tasks that require accurate text becomes very comfortable on the Palm Organizer: Writing adresses and appointments, preparing faxes, answering email, and typing memos all become realistic tasks. You may end up using HotSync more often in the Palm to PC direction.
