Slides and Expansions are complementary.

When you set the number of letters for a suggestion to N >= 2, you can think that your 1-letter abreviations are slides and your abbreviations requiring more than one letters are expansions. If you get too many expansions with N=2 you can set it to 3 or 4, but 3 should be sufficient (I have set it to 2).

I guess it takes some getting used to. If you don't want any glossary suggestions, you can load the Empty glossary. I am sure you will find the options that are useful to you.

Of course, the built-in word suggestions of Windows CE should be switched off.
