Some half-baked ideas about fingerboards

That keyboard looks interesting and your thoughts about how to size and fingerboard are appreciated.

Frankly I don't really know what a good Fitaly fingerboard would look like. I think it may require a good 80% of the screen to be usable in any practical way. Something like the bottom 60% of the screen taken up with the fitaly letter layout only and the rest of the number/symbol keys and function keys divvying up the other 20% of the screen above that.

Landscape mode would be a lot easier to implement but a lot of us 2003 users are portrait-only.

Another idea might be to offer a landscape only fitaly board (like PDAMedia's full-screen board http://www.pdamedia.biz/pda-keyboard.html ) that could be accessed from the standard portrait keyboard and could switch back easily to fitaly-classic when heavy text entry was no longer needed.

Just thinking out loud here. Would love to hear what other users think might work best for them.

Fitaly-classic (the current large version) works really well for me for normal use. But if I need to write something of 120 words or more I need an external keyboard or a full-screen board.

Thanks for listening.
