Hi,

Thank you for these first comments. Concerning the Vista message, you can just ignore it. I suppose it does not completely trust the "nstall" installer that we have been using successfully since the very first version of Fitaly. :-)

My answers to the other points you mention:

Keyboard size:

The new Fitaly Options lets you select keyboard sizes that your screen may not be able to display because its resolution is too small. In any case, you can always change the size back:

  • either Via Start -> Settings -> Input ->Options -> Visual tab
  • or alternatively you can also tap the FitalyOptions.exe program in the windows directory under File Explorer

Now you may ask, why does Fitaly propose sizes that do not fit with your screen?
In Fitaly 4 FitalyOptions had the "intelligence" to propose only sizes that fit with your screen. However, several messages from our users made me think that this was not always working properly. So I decided to make all sizes available, knowing that it is always possible to switch back to the correct size if a selected size did not fit.

Custom slides file:

If you want to use custom slides, select "Use slides for customization" in the Fitaly Options/Sliding tab. Tap the "i" key on the sidebar, select "Load slides" and then choose the CustomSlidesTemplate.txt file. It contains a lot of nice slides. You will notice that we have added some slides to launch applications like Word, Excel, Notes, Calculator, Calendar. You may add more, of course, and use Fitaly not only as a keyboard but also as a launcher!

Unloading Fitaly from memory:

To unload Fitaly from memory:

  • Select another input method as startup IM in the Fitaly Options/Operations tab.
  • Do a soft reset

This is the only way to be sure Fitaly is not in memory anymore. When you switch to another input method, by design (Microsoft design of Windows CE) the Fitaly DLL gets unloaded only 10 minutes later, so waiting 10 minutes may be an alternative to the soft reset.

Best regards,
Emmanuel
