Hi, I can understand your position but the idea is really that the order that is set in the slide editor reflects the order in which you get the slides during your sliding trip. :-)
And In the first version, before beta 1 we had implemented what you suggest; it was very counter intuitive to see the scrolling of the choices go in the opposite direction of the slide direction.
Note that for south slides, the order is kept, for the same reason, i.e. have the scrolling of choices in sync. with the slide direction.
