It is not too late! :-)

As you are a 3.5 user the installer should have imported your previous slide definitions.

But if you take a look at the file "your mobile"\windows\Fitaly slidefiles\StandardSlides.txt, the slide file that brand new users get, you will see that we have defined the symbol slides you proposed as multiple slides for the north direction.
