There is an application which can be used to aid in training called WPM (Words Per Minute). You put in text as the reference text, then you can time yourself typing it in. The reference text will stay there until you change it, and it is visible onscreen while you are timing yourself. If I recall correctly, however, you can't cut from one source and paste it in as the reference text, it must be manually input. During the timing phase, however, you can cut and paste with no problem, yielding typing speeds of hundreds of words per minute!

This program, used with the practice strings shown earlier in this thread, makes a very effective training tool. Give it a try.
