First off I would like to thank both of you for the detailed response I received with the problem and reason for delay. I am glad I found this message forum. My main frustration was that Textware support never replied to my three emails. I had to hear that FITALY was not going to be updated and developers were not even planning to work on it for a while from the 1SRC and BrightHand forums. Reading that in those forums made me even more frustrated.

I am not a palm developer but I now understand the situation that FITALY development has been put into. I will send a email to PalmOne requesting better support for application development. I will most likely get the standard robotic response from them but at least my request will be noted.

I am a LAN Engineer and know exactly what you are dealing with when it comes to undocumented hardware changes. I get this problem from Dell all the time. I hope that SkinDIA 1.40r that supports the LifeDrive is helpful and will speed up the update to FITALY for LifeDrive support.

I am a power user of Palm devices and I am available for beta testing just as Kitten replied earlier in this thread.
