Word 2000 to Word 2003 transition

I am planning on buying Word 2003 if I can find it. I have on my computer Windows 2000 operating system, and Word 2000. If I buy Windows 2003 and all the Stedman's online resources are working in conjection with my Word 2000 program, will I lose these programs? I do not have a CD burner on my machine. It is a Dell 2000. I can't save these programs to a CD because I don't have a CD burner. I was thinking of buying a new computer with Word 2007 on it, but then I would run into the same problem, I think, with losing some of the Stedman medical resources.
