Using 2 monitors for computer work

I use two monitors for work. My larger monitor is set up to be the primary for any IE applications. My other monitor is actually attached to the laptop that I use. When using IT, I link it to IE when starting work using Bayscribe. Every time I submit a report, my IT jumps over to my laptop screen and I have to link it again to IE when starting my next job. I've tried several things to make it not jump but can't find a definitive answer for this problem. Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated.
