When I go to merge 2 glossaries into one, I select the 2 files from the left, then click on the "save merged glossaries" button (sorry, not sure of the name, but the button on the bottom to save), and then it says "select more files to merge." Never do I get a window to save it. Could this be a popup problem?
When you click on "Save merged glossaries", you should see a new window that pops us that will ask you for the name of the new merged glossary. A popup window blocker is unlikely the cause of the problem.
What version of IT are you using? You can find out by double-clicking on the blue title bar in Instant Text and then go to Help and About Instant Text. There you will see the exact version & built date that you are using. If you do not see a built date of May 2007, please see the link below to download the revision and then try the glossary merge again.
I tried includes, but I moved some glossaries into other folders, trying to organize them, and now I get "orthowords.glo" not found, no matter where I put it (and I've tried taking the offending glossary out of the includes lineup). It's driving me nuts, so I thought if I merge them, it might stop this problem.
The glossary could also be listed as an included glossary of an included glossary.
The "cannot find glossary" error message means that the glossary IT is trying to load has been moved from its original location, so IT cannot find it to load it.
Within the error message, IT will reference which glossary it is looking for, and where it is looking.
For example:
"Cannot find file C:\InstText\Glossary\Myglossary.glo"
Here you can see it is looking for the Myglossary.glo file in the Glossary folder.
You can resolve this issue in one of two ways:
The first option is to do a File Search on your computer to find where the glossary has been moved to, and place it back to its correct location referenced in the error message.
The second option would be to remove it from the glossary list and/or as an included glossary so IT does not try to load it at all.
Kind regards,
Kristen
