When you compile glossaries for different doctors or a group of doctors or a specialty, you want to have these glossaries as the current glossary in your Glossary list. Then you can easily fine-tune them by adding or moving things around.

To get all the entries of a more general glossary with entries that you want to get all the time with any of these more targeted glossaries, you include it to all these particular glossaries.

If you have a number of glossaries that you want to have available in combination of these compiled glossaries, you can create a shell glossary that includes, for instance, the Medstart, Drugs, and Medabbrv.glo as described in the manual.

When you merge glossaries, Instant Text creates one file with the entries of all the glossaries you merge. In my view, it is better to have sort of a library of glossaries that you combine as you see fit. At any time you can change the combinations.
