Answering my own question

Okay, this is kind of embarrassing, but I found the answer to my question. IT was linked automatically to all of my open programs, which include TransNet, Firefox, and ExText. I went into Link Options and manually took Link Automatically off all other programs except ExText and that seems to have fixed the problem. Yay!
