Help with compiling

I am about a year and half into using IT. I'm an old PRD and then shorthand user. My purchase of IT was about 10 years ago, but I could never get the hang of it, but I am loving it now compared to the other two programs.

Okay. I converted my SH file and started using that as my main glossary. Then as the majority of my workload started being op reports, I copied my main file and made it an op glossary, compiling a few reports I had and then add, add, add.

Six or so months ago, I decided to specialize, not by specialty, but by doctor and boy did that help on the op reports. I have now over 300 different doctor glossaries. At one time, I was adding phrases to all of them and then a light came on and I created an "addin" glossary which is included in the 300+ doctors' glossaries. If I needed to add a phrase, it would go to "addin" and thus be made a part of all my glossaries. My production has been slowly going up, and at the time of the contest, I was up to 1.91 CPK.

After reading your post here on compiling, I compiled a big glossary today of everything I have done since I started actually keeping copies of my work to use as an include with my other glossaries above. Today I got my CPK up to 2.19 for an hour or two and then it came down with some other doctors I was working on, but I was having to fine-tune my new glossary of includes. When I did the compilation I set it up with maximum of 7 words; should I have gone higher as I have just read on a post here? By day's end as I was adding to my #1 include glossary, it was taking several seconds for additions to made to get back to my actual document.

I was so excited earlier, but now I'm losing precious secs each time I add something. Also, Word has errored on me a few times while it was trying to do an autosave. My first thought was I needed to go to the computer shop tomorrow and have some more RAM added or should I perform a new compilation with max of 9 words per phrase?

Would it help if I merged the "addin" and "new comp" glossaries?

One of my glossaries includes the following sizes:
Main - 1.04 mb (Dr-M)
Addin - 190 kb
New comp today included with Addin above - 511 kb

I'm loving the continuations and new phrases I am getting. When I get this thing figured out, I'm hoping to be hitting 3-4 CPK in 6-12 mos.
